World Vegan Vision and Indian Consulate hold Gandhi Jayanti

World Vegan Vision, a non-profit advocacy organization, and the Consulate General of India, New York, held an event Oct. 1, 2021, celebrating Gandhi Jayanti and the languages of India.

The event was held at  My Home Adult Day Care center in Maywood, NJ.

More than 160 people joined the celebration, according to a press release from World Vegan Vision. The event was planned and coordinated by WVV’s  public relations manager Nitin Vyas and Vinod Shah, a senior executive in the organization.

Among the high-profile attendees at the event were, Cultural Consul at the Indian Consulate, Vipul Dev who represented the consulate of India; H.K. Shah and Malti Shah, founders of World Vegan Vision; Padma Shri Dr. Sudhir Parikh, chairman of Parikh Worldwide Media and ITV Gold, and Dr. Sudha Parikh, and community leaders including Dr. Mukund Thacker.

The venue for the event was made available by Pradip Kabaria who owns the adult day care center.

Dr. Shrenik Shah, president of World Vegan Vision, New Jersey, spoke about Mahatma Gandhi and his influence in leading a healthy lifestyle with a vegan diet.

Many other talented speakers also spoke in Gujarati, Hindi and English highlighting the life of Mahatma Gandhi.

The sponsors and donors of this program Kenny Desai, Dr. Thacker and Nimish Patel, were honored by the Cultural Consul and presented with recognition plaques for their support and donation.  The support from Indo American Seniors Association of Jersey City was also recognized.

A vegan dinner and guests were entertained by live singers.
