Will Siddharth Anand and Saif Ali Khan team up again?

Director Siddharth Anand and Saif Ali Khan were spotted by the paparazzi outside Siddharth’s Marflix Pictures’ office. The director-actor duo had worked together in Salaam Namaste (2005) and Ta Ra Rum Pum (2007). A full 17 years after their last project, speculations are rife on them working on a project together, although there are no official announcements on the same.

According to media reports, Siddharth is producing Jewel Thief starring Saif Ali Khan, Jaideep Ahlawat, Kunal Kapoor and Nikita Dutta. This directorial by Robbie Grewal is currently in the pre-production stage with an international shoot lined up in May. The project, produced by Siddharth Anand and Mamta Anand under their banner, Marflix Pictures, is slated to stream on a leading OTT platform.

Releasing films with big stars and filmmakers directly on OTT has now become a ‘safety-net’ norm as well as an avenue to exhibit offbeat or bolder content, as shown by stars like Saif’s wife Kareena Kapoor Khan doing Sujoy Ghosh’s Jaane Jaan, Sara Ali Khan and Emraan Hashmi doing Karan Johar’s Aye Watan Mere Watan, Karisma Kapoor and Dimple Kapadia doing Dinesh Vijan’s Murder Mubarak and many more.
