Maharaj directed by Siddharth P. Malhotra, is trending globally on Netflix. The film marks the debut of Junaid Khan, son of Aamir Khan, who plays the role of Karsandas Mulji. On the first day of shooting, Aamir and his family visited the set to encourage Junaid and the team, wishing them success. A few pictures have surfaced on social media that show Aamir hugging Junaid and interacting with the rest of the cast and crew members.

Siddharth also took to social media sharing some special memories with the cast and crew of his film, Maharaj. The post stated, “Happy happy memories and fun times whilst making #maharaj #junaidkhan @shalzp @jaideepahlawat @sharvari #teammaharaj”

The director too has a film background. Son to Prem Krishen Malhotra, the hero of films like Jaan Haazir Hai and Dulhan Wohi Jo Piya Man Bhaaye in the 1970s  and a frontline TV czar in the 1990s and early 2000s as producer, Siddharth is the grandson of Premnath and Bina Rai, both big names in their times. Junaid’s grandfather too is the iconic writer-filmmaker Nasir Husain of Tumsa Nahin Dekha, Yaadon Ki Baraat and Hum Kisise Kum Naheen fame.

Aamir also has said earlier to this writer that his son is quite different from him as a person but knows the value of hard work and is working in an era way different from the times of Aamir’s breakthrough in 1988 with Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak.
