The hit team of Shakuntala Devi reunites for Neeyat, a detective thriller directed by Anu Menon. The film has been produced by the same team of Prime Video and the Vikram Malhotra-led Abundantia Entertainment as well as director Anu Menon.

Neeyat features a stellar ensemble led by Vidya Balan, also from that film, including Ram Kapoor, Rahul Bose, Neeraj Kabi, Shahana Goswami, Amrita Puri, Dipannita Sharma, Niki Walia, Shashank Arora, Prajakta Koli, Ishika Mehra, Madhav Deval and Danesh Razvi.

The worldwide theatrical release date of the murder mystery is July 7. Anu Menon has subsequently directed multiple episodes of the internationally-acclaimed series, Killing Eve.

Neeyat is written by Anu Menon, Priya Venkataraman, Advaita Kala and Girvani Dhyani with dialogues by Kausar Munir. It tells the story of an unlikely detective (Vidya Balan) who investigates mysterious murders at a billionaire’s party where nothing is what it seems and all suspects hide a secret or two. Vidya lst played a detective in Bobby Jasoos.

Neeyat marks Vidya Balan’s return to theatres after her stint on digital with three films that premiered on Prime Video, the other two being Sherni (2021) and Jalsa (2022). Vidya has been the recipient of multiple Best Actress awards for these films at prestigious forums.

This film also marks the second theatrical co-production for both Abundantia Entertainment and Prime Video.
