VHP America and VHP Canada plan Ram Mandir Rath Yatra covering mandirs in US and Canada

In a first-of-its-kind endeavor, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad of America (VHPA),  and the Vishwa Hindu Parishad of Canada  announced the commencement of the Ram Mandir Rath Yatra, that involves visiting more than 851 mandirs (Hindu temples) in America and 150 mandirs in Canada. It begins on March 25, 2024, from the World Hindu Council of America Hindu Center in Sugar Grove, IL.

A specially adorned van will carry statues of Shree Ram, Sita, Lakshman, and Hanuman, along with Ram Lalla Pratikruti and Kalash of Prana Pratishtha Pujit Akshat.

Organizers said in a press release March 18, that the primary goal is to hand-deliver Prasad (sacred food offering) and Akshat (unbroken rice grains) obtained by Vishwa Hindu Parishad of America Delegates who actively participated in the Shree Ram Lalla Murti Prana Pratishtha in Ayodhya Dham on January 22, 2024. Additionally, the initiative aims to present written recognition of participation in the same event.

The Yatra will stretch from around 45 to 60 days, and will conclude on April 23, 2024, which is considered the auspicious day of Shree Hanuman Jayanti, back at Sugar Grove, IL, having visited over 1,000 temples across both nations.
