Trailer launch of Mirzapur 3 promises most intense season ever

Set to release on July 5, Mirzapur 3, an Excel Entertainment production, sees Pankaj Tripathi return as the mighty Kaleen Bhaiyya. The trailer was launched on June 20 at the Hotel Taj Land’s End in the presence of the entire cast and crew of this highly-applauded web franchise on Prime Video.

As a series with several iconic characters, past and present, the trailer begins in style with some choice expletives (a web norm) followed by action. Guddu Bhaiya, played by Ali Fazal, is the man on a mission. He will take over the throne of Mirzapur and will eventually become the ruler of Purvanchal. But will he? The trailer does hint at Guddu Bhaiya’s journey of turning into a mad king, while Kaleen Bhaiya is the opposite. A defeated and a wounded king, Kaleen will do what has never happened in the history of Purvanchal to save his father’s legacy.

Shweta Tripathi Sharma, Vijay Varma, Rasika Dugal, Isha Talwar, Priyanshi Painyuli, Harshita Shekhar Gaur, Anjumm Shharma, Meghna Malik, Manu Rishi Chadha and Sheeba Chadha are also in the cast. And most of them were present at the meet, where in true Prime Video fashion, the media was not given any opportunity to ask questions to the team and FAQs by the anchor were glibly answered with dutiful predictability. Co-producer Farhan Akhtar, directors Gurmeet Singh and Anand Iyer were also present.

Obviously, as with all such launches, the event was full of mutual raves and Farhan Akhtar even joked that the only questions he faced from fans abroad were, “Why are you here now?”, “When is Don 3 coming?” and “When is Mizrapur 3 coming?” Well, we know the answer now!
