EDISON, N.J. — More than 7,000 people gathered on May 30 for the 4th Annual Edison Eid Festival, making it one of the largest community celebrations in the area and showcasing the vibrant diversity and unity of Central New Jersey’s Muslim community.
The festival was organized collaboratively by four local mosques — Masjid Al-Wali, the Muslim Community of Middlesex County (MCMC), the Muslim Center of New Jersey (MCNJ) and the Edison Muslim Community Center (EMCC). The event brought together families, friends, community leaders and residents from across the region for a day of celebration following Eid.
Attendees enjoyed continuous live stage performances throughout the day, featuring cultural entertainment and community presentations. A highlight of the festival was a special appearance by comedian and actor Omar Regan, whose performance entertained crowds and added to the festive atmosphere.
Families were drawn to the expansive Kids Zone, which featured a wide variety of attractions, including bouncy houses, a rock-climbing wall, a petting zoo, pony rides and an interactive bubble show. The family-friendly activities provided entertainment for children of all ages and helped create a welcoming environment for the entire community.
The festival also featured more than 60 food and non-food vendors, offering a diverse selection of cuisine, merchandise, community resources and local business offerings. Vendor booths remained busy throughout the day as attendees explored the marketplace and supported local entrepreneurs.
Local government and civic leaders were also in attendance, including Edison Mayor Sam Joshi, members of the Edison Township Council and representatives from the Edison Board of Education. Their presence underscored the importance of the festival as a community event that fosters engagement, understanding and collaboration among residents of all backgrounds.
Organizers described the event as a tremendous success, highlighting the strong turnout, community participation and spirit of celebration that defined the day. As attendance continues to grow each year, the Edison Eid Festival has become a signature event that brings together thousands of people to celebrate faith, culture and community.
