The dance song of the season, Alcoholia, composed by Vishal-Sheykhar (yes, Shekhar as a spelling is passé, now!), written by Manoj Muntashir and sung by Vishal, Sheykhar, Snigdhajit Bhowmik and Ananya Chakraborty was launched amidst fan frenzy from hundreds of teenage fans at Mumbai’s only mass multiplex, G-7, September 17.

The specially invited teenage crowd went berserk as the song was screened, twice, and Hrithik Roshan made an appearance in front of them and later sashayed to the beats of the track from the film Vikram Vedha. A bunch of teenagers also joined him on stage as they danced to a few steps from the latest touted chartbuster. The media and fans witnessed the launch live on the big screen in 14 other cities across India—Lucknow, Patna, Indore, Surat, Nagpur, Jalandhar, Chandigarh, Jodhpur, Noida, Nashik, Varanasi, Ranchi, Aurangabad and Delhi.

About why this venue was chosen over a typical multiplex for the song launch, Hrithik said, “This was the place where I sat with the audience watching the first-ever show of my debut film, Kaho Naa…Pyaar Hai over 22 years ago. I came to see their reaction and after the show, they recognized me and showered me with so much love. I knew then what stardom meant and still means!” eliciting an appreciative smile from G-7 managing director Manoj Desai, who was in the audience.

He added, “Before Kaho Naa…Pyaar Hai, doctors had told me that my health was not so good and I will not be able to do action films and dance. I took that as a challenge. I focused on my health and fitness. I am just happy and glad that it is nothing short of a miracle that this is my 25th film, and I am still doing action and still dancing. The 26 year-old then would be very proud of me!” said the 48 year-old actor.

Directors Pushkar and Gayathri (the film is the remake of their own 2017 Tamil movie of the same name, which starred Vijay Sethupathi and R. Madhavan), choreographer Ganesh Hegde, producer Shibasish Sarkar, leading lady Radhika Apte and Yogita Bihani and Rohit Saraf among the supporting cast were present, and Hrithik and Ganesh raved about their experiences with each other while filming the catchy song on a pub set with hundreds of junior artistes.

A notable feature of the song is the varied hook-steps it has, supplemented by incredible expressions from the actor.

The film is produced by YNOT Studios, Friday Filmworks, T-Series Films, Reliance Entertainment and Jio Studios, and releases September 30.
