Director R. Balki’s psychological thriller Chup has been an incredible journey for the whole cast. Heading the actors’ list is Sunny Deol, who is popular for his action thrillers. Chup will mark the actor’s first-time pair-up with the director and he recently opened up on his experience of working with the director.

“Balki-sir is really a great professional with a great vision. He knows what he wants and is very precise with his work, and that’s what made us finish the shoot within just 45 days. It was a great pleasure working with him and the whole team. It went very easy for us.”

Filmmaker R Balki had unveiled the Chup teaser on the late legendary Guru Dutt’s birthday. Paying an ode to him, the teaser pointed to the criticism that the director received for his masterpiece, Kaagaz Ke Phool. Billed as Chup: Revenge of the Artist, it is the first film to be shot at Mumbai’s iconic institution, the J.J. School of Arts. The academy brings out exceptional talents and the film that comes as an ode to the artiste had to be shot at one of the most inspiring locations. The director opened up on the shoot of the film at the exquisite location.

Chup relates to the life of an artiste, and the School was a perfect location for us. It’s one of the most stunning architectures we have in Mumbai. We shot in Kipling’s bungalow inside the campus. It was an unforgettable experience with tremendous support from the faculty and the management there,” said the filmmaker.
