Star-studded Mumbai premiere kicks off Citadel Global Tour

A day after a press conference for the media, a star-studded Asia Pacific Premiere of the spy-thriller series, Citadel, launching on Amazon Prime Video on April 28, was held on April 4 at Mumbai’s PVR IMAX at the Palladium.

The high-stakes drama is executive produced by the Russo Brothers’ AGBO and showrunner David Weil, and stars Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra Jonas, with Stanley Tucci and Lesley Manville.

Ahead of its launch on Prime Video, the streaming service hosted a special premiere to kick-starting the global tour with Mumbai as its first stop, followed by Rome and London. The glitz and glamour of the carpet witnessed the lead cast— Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra Jonas, along with Gaurav Gandhi, vice- president, Asia-Pacific, Prime Video, Sushant Sreeram, Country Director, Prime Video, India and some of the leading names from the film, television and entertainment industry.

Adding even more glamour to the night was lead actor of the untitled Indian installment of the Citadel universe, Varun Dhawan (Samantha Ruth Prabhu is the female lead), creators Raj and DK, and writer Sita R. Menon.

Priyanka’s mother, Madhu Chopra, was seen wishing her daughter and Richard Madden the best luck for their show. A know-all also informed that Priyanka was dressed in blue Versace. Rekha made one of her rare appearances, and also present were Rekha, Jackie Shroff, Aditi Rao Hydari, Rasika Dugal, Sanya Malhotra, Shweta Tripathi, Sikander Kher, Mohit Raina, Ali Fazal, Rakul Preet Singh, Jim Sarbh, Sayani Gupta, Mini Mathur, Nora Fatehi, Sunny Leone, Patralekhaa, Neha Dhupia, Prajakta Koli, Kusha Kapila, Aashish Chanchlani, Sophie Choudry, Anushka Dandekar, Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor, Nikhil Dwivedi, Siddhant Gupta, Neha Sharma and Aisha Sharma, Saqib Saleem, Ishwak Singh, Kubra Sait, Gurmeet Singh, Mehreen Pirzada, Bhuvan Arora, Shruti Seth, Shweta Tripathi, Shreya Dhanwanthary and Karan Mehta.

Spotted also at the premiere were filmmakers Madhur Bhandarkar, Kabir Khan, Siddharth Roy Kapur, Vikramaditya Motwane, Pushkar-Gayathri, Nikkhil Advani, Anubhav Sinha, Shonali Bose, Tanuja Chandra, Sameer Nair, Aatish Kapadia and J.D. Majethia.
