The one year old organization, South Asian New York Fashion Week (SANYFW), announced it has established a Board of Advisors as the organization readies for its return in 2023. The new Board of Advisors is expected to “provide guidance and strategic direction that (would) help increase the key goals of the organization, alongside building out the South Asian Fashion Council,” SANYFW said in a March 15 press release.

Founded by Shipra Sharma and Hetal Patel, SANYFW debuted in 2022 as a platform to showcase South Asian designers from across the world, and bring the best creators from India to the U.S.  This year, events ranging from runway shows to designer presentations will be hosted from September 9-15 in New York City.

All board members are experts in the fields that they represent SANYFW said, adding that they “bring a unique perspective on fashion, strategy, media relations, and inclusivity to help elevate the mission of organization.”

The Advisory Board members include:

Aparna Rao, Entertainment PR Executive

Areesh Haq, Senior Producer at IMG Focus, Creative Director SANYFW
