Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, which has been getting rave reviews in several countries, and has an Executive Producer and an Actor of Indian origin, is having a great run in India as well.

According to the latest box office information, Spider-Verse in India is “a record breaker!” say those who watch  the numbers.

Released jointly by Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures Animation, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse scored a record-breaking launch in India. It broke the local all-time opening day record for an animated movie with $610,000, and that too while releasing on a non-traditional Thursday.

The opening day gross is higher than the total weekend gross of three animated features combined –  Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, and The Little Mermaid.

The Spider-verse film also set records in India for an animated movie with the widest release ever (2,000+ screens) and the most languages at 10 – Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Punjabi, Gujarati, Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, and the original English.

One of the producers of Spider Verse is Aditya Sood; and one of the actors is Karan Soni doing the voice-over for Spider-Man India.
