Sonam Kapoor ‘Super-excited to face the camera again!’

Sonam Kapoor is set to start shooting for her first project post-pregnancy early next year. It will be a streaming project on a global platform. Additional details on this project will be announced soon.

Sonam says, “I’m super-excited to face the camera again after my pregnancy. I love being an actor and living so many interesting characters through my profession. Human beings fascinate me and I love playing varied roles. I’m looking forward to my next.”

She adds, “I will return to the sets early next year. Details of this project are currently getting locked so I won’t be able to talk at length until the announcement is made. It’s a big project. That’s all I can say right now.”

Sonam Kapoor now calls herself Sonam K. Ahuja after her marriage. The actress began her career with Saawariya and has been a part of hits like Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, Neerja and Sanju. Her acclaimed portrayal of Neerja Bhanot in the 2016 biographical thriller Neerja also won her the National Film Award – Special Mention and a Filmfare Award for Best Actress (Critics).

Sonam, who had originally wanted to be a director and writer, expressed a desire to work as a crew member on the film. On her father’s recommendation to director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, she was appointed as his assistant. She was assistant director on the sets of Black before making her acting debut.
