Shilpa Shetty Kundra felicitated female cops on Women’s Day!

Shilpa Shetty Kundra has always been known for actively promoting women entrepreneurship and supporting various initiatives that push female entrepreneurs. Shilpa is an investor herself and a partner with Hunar Online Courses, a platform that helps Indian women to become independent and stable. This supportive space with a community of 20 lakh-plus women helps them learn fashion, food and beauty skills, make their own creations, and even start a business. The actress was also honored with the ‘Business Icon of the Year’ Award recently.

With such strong initiatives being endorsed by her, the actress was invited to felicitate the female officers of Nirbhaya Squad that is working relentlessly for women’s safety. This event was held by the Mumbai Police on the occasion of  Women’s Day, March 8.

Nirbhaya Squad comprises trained women police officials. It was formed to put a stop to various crimes perpetuated against women like sexual harassment, rape, acid attacks, stalking and other similar abuses.

During her speech, the actress said, ““The fearless cops of the Nirbhaya Squad work relentlessly round the clock to ensure that all citizens feel safe. I feel honored to felicitate their dedication. All the strong women of the city are present here. Wish you all a very Happy Women’s Day. But I think we don’t need a single day to celebrate. I don’t know why this single day has been created. I feel proud that I am born as a woman and I have a daughter too. We celebrate womanhood and I think we should celebrate each other every day.”

Shilpa Shetty essays the role of a female cop in Rohit Shetty’s cop universe series, Indian Police Force. Shilpa is the first female cop to enter Rohit Shetty’s cop dramas. She is also looking forward to Sukhee, wherein she will be seen in yet another different avatar.
