“Shaam E Gaana” celebrates anniversary with Bollywood singer Shibani Kashyap

On April 2, 2021, “Shaam E Gaana”, a virtual musical program featuring talented artists from across the tristate, the United States, and around the world, celebrated its first anniversary with Bollywood Playback Singer from Mumbai Shibani Kashyap.

IndusTV under the leadership of Vijay Garg of PGA has been presenting the virtual musical program every Friday night from 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. since April 3, 2020, and completed 53 episodes during the pandemic.  Sham E Gaana on a virtual platform is a unique concept where some of the most talented singers from the tri-state area as well as across the USA and India were part of the last 53 episodes.

The theme of this virtual musical show was conceptualized by Dr. Tushar Patel, executive director of IndusTV, along with host Madhavi Bathula who is considered a ‘Bollywood Encyclopedia’ the press release from IndusTV noted.

More than 150 singers took part in the program.

Some of the major highlights of the year-long programming included Shaam E Gaana’s 25th episode featuring Bollywood Playback Singer Poornima AKA Sushma Shrestha; 50th episode with Bollywood Playback Singer Preety Bhalla; and the one year anniversary episode with Shibani Kashyap joined the event live from Mumbai.

All three celebrity singers had interactive sessions with the participants and sand some of the most popular songs from their own era during the milestone episodes.

Kashyap sang “Jogiya” a tale of falling in love in the most beautiful place – Punjab, which was released less than a week ago and viewed by 1.3 million, as well as her other famous songs, were applauded and watched by more than 10,000 people virtually, during the April 2 anniversary event.

Singers featured in the program included Sunita Kapur, Anitha Krishna, Rakesh Raj, Raj, Smruti and Eshna Pandya, Ipshita Roy, Tanmayee Mohapatra, Ujjaval Vyas,  Dinesh Mirchandani,  Umesh Patel, Mahesh Mehta, Prakhar Ghosh, Kashyap Jani, Tina Kundalia Singh, Simran Sethi.

Singers from India included Bhumik Shah, Praher Vora, Gargi Vora and many others were part of the year-long weekly saga every Friday.

The main objective is to highlight singers from all across the USA in different age categories, the press release said.

Some of the young singers who were part of Shaam E Gaana include Sparsh Shah, Neeti Gupte, Rushil Vish, Om & Surabhi Guha.

Besides Bollywood singing, Shaam E Gaana is also adding a variety of regional songs and special segments of classical, ghazal, qawwali and others to bring variety in the second year.

The objective and goal of Shaam E Gaana program is to create a musical fraternity for all the singers who want to showcase their talent under one platform and to appreciate music and India’s rich variety of culture and heritage in music.
