At least 7 scientists of Indian origin are among the list of 126 scholars to receive the prestigious Sloan Research Fellowship from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. The recent announcement made by the organization said these Fellows represent the most promising early-career scientists working today.
“Their achievements and potential place them among the next generation of scientific leaders in the U.S. and Canada. Winners receive $75,000, which may be spent over a two-year term on any expense supportive of their research.
The Indian-origin scholars are under the subject categories Chemistry, Computer Science, Neuroscience, and Physics. None were listed in the categories Earth System Science, Economics, and Mathematics.
