Seniors hold gala celebration for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day

The Federation of Seniors Associations of North America, FISANA, celebrated Mother’s Day & Father’s Day together at a recent gala lunch held at Royal Albert’s Palace in Fords, New Jersey.

The event was attended by more than 1,000 FISANA members there to enjoy a packed agenda that included keynote speeches by President, Chairman, community-guests, music performances, award presentations, and charity donation initiatives, a press release from the organization said, adding that the Gala Dinner proved to be a resounding success, based on the reviews guests gave as they departed.

President Bharat Rana introduced Nishil Parikh who is a well-known Gujarati poet and IT expert. Guests meanwhile enjoyed “enchanting melodies of Ganesh Vandana, which provided a warm and welcoming ambiance,” organizers said.

Chairman Dipak Shah addressed the gathering wishing Happy Mother’s Day to FISANA mothers and Happy Father’s Day to FISANA fathers present. Shah said when more than 600 guests pay for attending events like this, it gives FISANA the inspiration to hold more such events.

Vice Chairman Dr. Mukund Thakar, who came with spouse Rama Thakar, spoke briefly also wishing everyone and said the event provided entertainment and fun with lots of food for seniors to enjoy.

Kenny Desai, president of Federation of Indian Associations, said, “FIA is proud of joining hands with FISANA.” He also noted that FIA had joined in welcoming Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi in Washington, D.C. and New York. “FIA welcomes you all to join FIA Independence Day Parade on August 20th, 2023 on Madison Avenue, New York,” Desai added.

Edison Mayor Sam Joshi said his township was proud to be host to an organization like FISANA, and wished everyone Happy Mother’s and Father’s Day. He recounted his progress since becoming Mayor 18 months ago, in education, infrastructure, business, etc.

Padma Shri recipient Dr Sudhir Parikh, chairman of Parikh Worldwide Media, in his speech said, “ FISANA is in heart of Senior’s as one of the old and larger organization in terms of years and members who time to time enjoy various events of community and Parikh Media always provides the platform to do coverage in TV and print media. Parikh Media as always extend support by media and will continue to do so.”

Piyush Patel said he believed in supporting the community of seniors and will continue to do so for FISANA in whatever way possible himself and through his company.

Vice Chairman Subhash Doshi, Passaic County Commissioner Bruce James, and all others were welcomed with flowers by FISANA mothers.

Kunal Joshi and Juhi Mehta from KZ Entertainment donated almost 450 tickets for theater events.

Bimal Joshi from Golden Era Adult Day Care was honored for his services to FISANA.

Jinal Raval & Sia Raval performed Bollywood fusion kathak. ‘Uncle’ Pankaj Misra performed the iconic song of Amitabh Bachchan. All performances received loud applause from the audience.

The talented musician Sanjay Shah entertained with his soulful voice and  tunes enhanced by sound engineer Rajan.

“The success of the event was a demonstration to the power of donations,” organizers said in the press release, noting the members who were generous with their support to FISANA, among them, Ramilaben, Dipak Shah, Dr. Mukkund Thakar, Vishnu Patel, KZ Entertainment, Vipul Amin, Vatsalya Adult Day Care, ITV Gold, and others.
