On the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima, Sandeep Modi pays homage to Ashutosh Gowariker, Ram Madhvani, Rakeysh Om Prakash Mehra, Rajkumar Hirani and others_

Guru Purnima serves as a day to celebrate and honour the teachers in our lives. Expressing his gratitude, Sandeep Modi took to Instagram and paid homage to the people who have inspired him.

Sandeep added, “I believe a guru plays a crucial role in shaping an individual’s life. In my case after FTII, Ram Madhvani, Ashutosh Gowariker, Rakeysh Om Prakash Mehra, Vishal Bharadwaj, Anand .L. Rai, Rajkumar Hirani,

and Martin Scorsese have been instrumental in shaping my cinematic vision. They are my textbooks, I refer to their astonishing works whenever in a fix.”

On the work front, Sandeep is garnering massive adulation for “The Night Manager – Part 2,” and is gearing up for his next with Dharma Productions.

The Night Manager is a Hindi-language crime-thriller television series created by Sandeep Modi, which serves as a remake of the British television series The Night Manager (2016) based on the John Le Carre’s novel of the same name.

An alumni of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune, Sandeep Modi is an Indian filmmaker, who primarily started working in the Marathi film industry. He has worked on short films like Best Friends Forever and Bilori, which won him the Golden Pearl Award at the Hyderabad International Film Festival. He later made his directorial debut with the Marathi feature film Chumak (2018) Lottery (2018), Arya(2020) and the Night manager Part 2

One a critical observation Sandeep’s work reflects hidden wisdom through his lenses, his academics and life’s experiences appear on screen foraying his journey. Cinema is a matter of what’s in the frame and what’s out. The best filmmaker is the one who sees it through the audience’s perspective and that resonates with Sandeep’s style of taking.
