Neha Karode, an emerging star in the music industry, recently had the honor of working with the legendary Kumar Sanu. Together, they recreated the iconic song Tujhe dekha to yeh jaana sanam, written by Anand Bakshi, composed by Jatin-Lalit and sung originally by Lata Mangeshkar with Sanu. The song, from the film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), has attained the status of an anthem now.

This collaboration with Sanu himself was a significant milestone in Neha’s career and she shared her experience of working with him.

Neha couldn’t contain her excitement when she first learned she would work with Sanu. His presence was described as infusing the environment with the best kind of energy. His punctuality, kindness and encouragement were not just hallmarks of his professionalism but also deeply inspiring.

During their collaboration, Sanu emphasized the importance of perseverance and of not relying too heavily on technology. He pointed out that with the right focus, the same quality could be achieved in a single take. This taught her the power of dedication and concentration.

The experience of working with Sanu has left a lasting impression on Neha. His words and guidance will continue to inspire her throughout her career. This project has not only showcased Neha’s vocal prowess but also her ability to work alongside legends, learning and growing with every note. The song has been released on Sa Re Ga Ma as a video. Orchestrated by Abhijit Vaghani, it is conceptualized by Richa Tandon.

This new version, orchestrated by Abhijit Vaghani, paying homage to the original by Jatin-Lalit, reignited nostalgia. Conceptualized by Richa Tandon, song bridged generations with its timeless melody revamped by  Abhijit Vaghani and lyricist Bhrigu Parashar. Kumar Sanu’s soulful voice, paired with Neha Karode’s fresh perspective, reflected a unique musical experience.
