Rajkummar Rao, Aparshakti Khurana to begin shoot for Stree 2 in March

After teasing the audience of the arrival of Stree 2 in the post-climax scene of Bhediya, Rajkummar Rao and Aparshakti Khurana with Abhishek Banerjee are all set to start shooting in March 2023. A source from the production house confirms that the original cast of Stree will begin shooting across four cities.

In Bhediya, Rajkummar Rao (Vicky) and Aparshakti Khurana (Bittu) are seen is a clear giveaway that there is Stree 2 in the pipeline. Currently, these actors are busy with other commitments, while the pre-production on Stree 2 has already begun.

In the 2018 movie Stree, Aparshakti played the character of Bittu, who is the friend of Rajkummar’s character Vicky. The movie was a horror comedy co-written by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K., better known as Raj & DK (Go Goa Gone, The Family Man). It marked the debut of director Amar Kaushik. For his role in Stree, Aparshakti had also got a Filmfare nomination in the Best Supporting Actor category.

Meanwhile, Abhishek Banerjee, who played the important role of Janardan in Stree, has done the same role in Bhediya. Bhediya shared the director and producer (Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films) as well.

Dinesh has stated that these films, as well as the unsuccessful Roohi (2021), featuring Jahnvi Kapoor, are a part of his planned horror comedy universe.
