Padma Shri Dr. Sudhir Parikh presents ‘To New India with Love’- film by Emmy-nominated Tirlok Malik

New York: Padma Shri Dr. Sudhir Parikh, chairman of Parikh Worldwide Media, is presenting an inspiring short film titled ‘To New India with Love’– A film by Emmy-nominated Tirlok Malik, an Emmy-nominated Indian-American filmmaker.

The short (9-minute) film is to be released August 27, 2021. It is described in the press release as a “social-impact film aimed at creating a greater awareness about the role that NRIs can play in mentoring the Indian youth.”

‘To New India with Love’ is a non-commercial venture, produced with a public-service spirit, appealing broadly to Indians worldwide, the press release said.

“The future of India rests on the shoulders of the youth. Therefore, every step taken to empower the youth is a step forward towards the fulfillment of the dream of New India,” Dr. Parikh is quoted saying in the press release, adding, “The film ‘To New India with Love’ is a sincere attempt to inspire the youth and instill hope and confidence in them towards the building of New India.”

Dr. Parikh’s lifelong work demonstrates his love and commitment for India, the press release said.

The film tells the story of Vijay, a young Indian college student aspiring to leave for America for better professional opportunities and his encounter with an NRI Prof. Khanna. When Vijay approaches Prof. Khanna for help, the two engage and explore the opportunities and challenges of building a New India.

‘To New India with Love’ will be released on the YouTube channel of nritvfilmclub at 11.00 AM EST (USA / CANADA) and 8.30 PM IST (INDIA).

New York based Tirlok Malik is best known for making films about Indian immigrants in the U.S. such as ‘Lonely in America’, ‘Khushiyaan’, and ‘On Golden Years’. He is also the Line Producer (USA) of several Bollywood films. The screenplay and dialogue are written by Murtaza Ali Khan. Rakesh Zharotia is the film’s editor and assistant director. Tushar Unadkat of MUKTA Advertising (Canada) helped with media outreach.
