New York gallery focused on South Asian artists will participate in Art SG

Aicon New York, a gallery in the Big Apple, which focuses on South Asian origin artists, announced January 9, 2023, it will be participating in the inaugural edition of Art SG with a group presentation of works by gallery artists.

These artists include, among others, Rachid Koraïchi (b. Algeria, 1947); Saad Qureshi (b. Pakistan, 1986); Rasheed Araeen (b. Pakistan, 1935); Natvar Bhavsar (b. India, 1934); K. S. Kulkarni (b. India, 1916; d. 1994) and Jamini Roy (b. India, 1877; d. 1972).

The event will be held at the Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre. The VIP preview will be held Jan. 11, and the public days are Jan. 12-15, 2023.

Art SG will be presenting more than 150 of the world’s leading galleries, many of whom will be making their Singapore debut.

Art SG is the biggest art fair launch in Asia Pacific in a decade, a press release from Aicon said.

Art SG 2023 will be on view at the Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre from Wednesday, January 11th to Sunday, January 15th.

According to its website Aicon.art, the gallery specializes in modern and contemporary non-Western art with a focus on South Asia, the Middle East and Africa. “The New York gallery provides a vital platform for artists from these regions to show in the United States,” it says. Alongside in-depth, focused solo shows, the gallery presents a program of curated group exhibitions that are international in their scope and ambition, it adds.
