New Jersey Congressman honors Jain spiritual leader, Acharya Lokeshji

Jain spiritual leader and founder of Ahimsa Vishwa Bharti, Acharya Lokeshji, who reached America on “peace harmony tour” was honored with the official seal & Congressional Proclamation by Congressman Jefferson Van Drew, R-New Jersey, in Washington, D.C., according to a June 26, 2023, press release from Ahimsa Vishwa Bharti.

The seal and proclamation recognized Acharya Lokeshji for his efforts in promoting non-violence, peace and harmony in the world, the press release said, adding that this was “the first time, the US House of Representatives awarded an official seal along with a citation to an Indian monk.”

Congressman Jefferson Van Drew is quoted saying said that Acharya Lokeshji “is an inspiration to all and whose energy and achievements help us to see hope and glimpses of the future. He said that honoring Acharya Lokeshji is a matter of honor and pride for our community and for the citizens of the USA. I hope his tour will increase peace & harmony in the society, and world.”

Acharya Dr. Lokeshji expressed his gratitude on the occasion and said “This honor is not only my honor, it is the honor of the entire ancient Indian culture, it is the honor of Lord Mahavir and the ideas given by him.” He expressed the hope that India and US together can contribute significantly in establishing peace and harmony in the world.
