More than 200 visitors benefit from free Health Fair in NJ

Health Camp of New Jersey, a non-profit organization, held its   18th annual Health Fair at Shree Swaminarayan Temple in Secaucus, NJ on Sunday, October 20, 2024.

More than 200 people participated and benefitted from various health screening and disease prevention, education and counseling services for medical, dental and mental health, a press release said.

The health fair was open to all pre-registered participants in the uninsured or underinsured categories to receive preventive  comprehensive health screening as well as education, women disorders, influenza vaccination and many other services.

The physicians, specialists, mental health providers and allied health professionals which included pharmacist, phlebotomists, EKG techs, medical assistants, nurses, social workers and medical students provided their services to screen and educate patients specifically focused to the South Asian population.

Secaucus Mayor Mike Gonnelli attended the event to appreciate the services from HCNJ and the temple’s dedicated volunteers.

To date, HCNJ provided screening to more than 13,000 needy people in South Asian communities throughout the state since its inception in 1998.
