Moksh Dham Hindu Cremation Inc. of Chicago makes urgent appeal for support

The leaders of the project to build a cremation site in Chicagoland, where Hindu rituals can be followed, are asking the Hindu community to contribute to make this a reality.

“I am reaching out on behalf of Moksh Dham Hindu Cremation Inc., a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, with an earnest appeal for your support in an initiative that holds deep cultural and spiritual significance,” Dr. Rashmi Patel, president of Moksh Dham-Hindu Cremation Service, is quoted saying in a press release.

The Hindu community in Greater Chicago has long felt the need for a dedicated cremation facility that aligns with our traditions and beliefs, the appeal said. The existing options often do not accommodate the sacred rituals that are integral to the final journey, and to address this pressing concern, Moksh Dham Hindu Cremation Inc. has undertaken the mission of establishing a state-of-the-art cremation center “that will serve families with dignity, respect, and adherence to cultural customs,” the organizers say.

Describing it as “a legacy for future generations” as well, the initiative aims to secure land for the facility as a priority.

“We urgently request your generous financial support to make this project a reality. Your contribution—big or small—will leave a lasting impact on the community. This is not just a donation; it is an investment in preserving our heritage and fulfilling a fundamental need for thousands of families,” Dr. Patel said, noting that any donation big or small would help make the plan a reality.
