Members of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly commend PM Modi’s address in New York

On September 22, 2024, the Chairman Trustee of the National Council of Asian Indian Associations (NCAIA), Sunil Singh hosted a reception, for five visiting Members of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly, India, at the Mahal restaurant in Roslyn Heights, New York.

The delegation including Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Shahjahanpur, Vir Vikram Singh; MLA from Vrindavan, Rajesh Chaudhary; MLA from Badaun, Rajiv Singh; MLA from Amethi, Rakesh Pratap Singh; and MLA from Sultanpur, Rajesh Gautam. All members attended Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s community event in Long Island and praised his speech and vision for transforming India into a developed nation by 2047.

Singh told News India Times, “I am glad to host these MLAs, who are doing a phenomenal job in serving their respective constituencies back home. I am happy they were able to personally witness PM Modi’s speech today.”

The MLAs shared their thoughts about PM Modi’s speech exclusively with News India Times.

MLA Vir Singh expressed, “I was incredibly proud to witness the enthusiasm of Indian Americans at the event. Listening to such a compelling and progressive speech from PM Modi reinforces my belief that India is on the right path. Indians are achieving great success in America, and it’s a joy to see their growth.”

MLA Chaudhary remarked, “The excitement among people to see PM Modi’s program was palpable. He is fortifying India, steering the nation toward becoming a developing country. All NRIs are optimistic about PM Modi’s leadership, and I am confident that India will become a developed nation by 2047.” He also encouraged NRIs to consider how they can assist their homeland, as highlighted by PM Modi in his address.

MLA Rajiv Singh stated that the Prime Minister provided a comprehensive overview of India in his speech. “India is advancing under PM Modi’s guidance. The excitement among Indian Americans to learn about India’s progress during this historic address was significant,” he noted, expressing hope that NRIs will support PM Modi’s vision for the nation’s advancement.

Expressing his joy at being part of the program, MLA Rakesh Singh remarked, “India has always embraced PM Modi, but coming to New York and witnessing the admiration and respect that NRIs have for him made it clear that his popularity extends far beyond our borders.” He emphasized that such experiences can only be truly appreciated by attending events like this.

He also praised the Prime Minister for strengthening India’s presence on the global stage, noting that the world recognizes India’s growing influence, crediting PM Modi’s leadership.

MLA Gautam expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to attend the event, feeling immense pride in how positively India’s image has evolved internationally.

“I could feel the enthusiasm from the Indian American community when PM Modi entered the hall. I am confident that his vision will lead India to become a developed nation by 2047.”

Democratic Candidate for the New York State Assembly District-19, Sanjeev Jindal, Founder and President of the Foundation of Indian Americans, New England, Abhishek Singh, Parminder Singh of the Mahal restaurant, and local business owners Prakash Chavda and Dharampal Singh, among others were also present during the reception.
