In a heartwarming and unexpected gesture and display of solidarity, prominent directors from the Marathi film industry who are now making significant strides in Hindi cinema, came together to celebrate the success of their friend and fellow filmmaker Aditya Sarpotdar’s first Hindi theatrical film, Munjya.

Munjya has become a box-office hit, even without any major stars, amassing over Rs. 80 crore nett in its third weekend in India alone. Additionally, the number of Marathi filmmakers venturing into Hindi cinema is growing each year, reaching an all-time high this year, which was also a reason for celebration at the party.

Directors Ravi Jadhav, Om Raut, Sameer Vidwans, Nipun Dharmadhikari, Laxman Utekar, Rajesh Mapuskar, Avinash Arun, Tejas Deoskar, Jayprad Desai, Nikhil Mahajan and Dnyanesh Zoting were all in attendance. The atmosphere was filled with joy and positive energies.

Hosted by director Om Raut, the celebration felt more like a family reunion, recounts an emotional Aditya Sarpotdar. He shares, “For the past 16 years, I have had the privilege of making movies, and during this journey, I have been blessed to be part of an incredible filmmaking community from the Marathi industry. Recently, the success of Munjya has been met with overwhelming appreciation from both audiences and critics, an achievement that is as humbling as it is exhilarating.”

He continued, “In celebration of this milestone, several accomplished filmmakers from the Marathi film industry who are now creating remarkable content in Hindi organized a success party that touched me profoundly. This event was more than just recognition of my film’s success; it was a testament to the unity and camaraderie that characterizes our film industry. Some of these filmmakers have been with me since I took my first steps into the world of cinema, while others have become cherished colleagues and friends whom I met along the way. Despite the diversity of our paths, our bond and mutual respect have only strengthened over the years. I am deeply touched and grateful.”

This gathering transcended the mere celebration of a film; it was a heartfelt occasion where everyone rejoiced in Sarpotdar’s triumph, highlighting the selflessness, love and friendship that bind this close-knit community. Returning the same love and respect, Aditya wishes his friends’ film equal success. “It is through these moments of shared joy and mutual support that we will continue to inspire each other and elevate our craft to new heights. I wish all the success to Nipun Dharmadhikari for his film Ishq Vishk Rebound.”
