Jain spiritual leader honored at fundraiser hosted by Smart Village Movement in Anaheim, California

Acharya Lokesh Muni, a Jain spiritual leader, was in Orange County recently as part of his tour to USA to promote non violence (ahimsa), interfaith dialogues with conflict resolution and message of world peace. He attended an event hosted by the Smart Village Movement, which partners with government, academia, corporations and rural communities “to foster independence and sustainable rural development in Indian villages and other emerging markets,” a press release said.

Under his leadership the World Peace Center in New Delhi is being built and is scheduled to be inaugurated in December 2023, a press release from the fundraising organizers in Orange County said.

SVM Founders Dr Anil & Preeti Shah and Acharya Lokesh Muni were honored at the event by California State Assemblywoman Sharon Quirk Silva “for their remarkable humanitarian activities” the press release said.

Dr Anil & Preeti Shah welcomed the invitees while Rajendra Vora Jain Social Group Federation Intl Vice President & Beverly Hills JSG President introduced CA Assemblywoman Sharon Quirk Silva.

In addressing the gathering Assemblywoman Quirk Silva said she is so proud to see SVM and World Peace Center’s initiatives for many humanitarian activities.

The World Peace Center aims to impart learning and coaching, research, impact studies, a center for scholarly interaction among nations for conflict resolution.

“He has collected millions towards the center and collected the sizable funds at the recent gathering and still pouring in,” the press release said, adding, “Leading Indian Americans  supported generously for this good cause for World Peace Center which exceeded equal to Rs 4 crores in less than 2 hours,” organizers said.

Also present at the event was Anjali Rupani wife of Ex- Chief Minister of Gujarat Vijay Rupani.
