Indian jewelers association holds Diwali celebrations, honors leaders

The Indian Diamond & Colorstone Association, IDCA, hosted its annual Diwali celebration on Tuesday, November 2nd in New York and honored 3 community leaders from their membership at the event.

Haridas Kotahwala, president of IDCA launched the event which was conducted by Joint Secretary Parag Jain.

Atul Kothari, CEO of Jewelex New York Ltd., was honored with the “Business Leader of the Community Award” in recognition of his outstanding achievements in the diamond
and jewelry industry, a press release from IDCA said.
“I accept the award in memory of my parents without whom I would not be here. And this recognition has everything to do with the passionate and creative individuals, my friends around me and the support of my wife Preeti and children,” Kothari said.
Prakash Mehta, president of Interings, Inc. was honored with the “Leader of the Community Award” and said that he has no words to express his gratitude, dedicating the award to his parents, and his wife Saryu and sons.

Mehta also paid tribute to the founding members of IDCA, for planting the seeds in 1984, that allowed the organization to serve the community.

Shyam Saraf, president, Trillion Emerald, Inc. was presented the “Leader of the Community Award.”

“I feel proud to be placed in the distinguished ranks of past and current honorees, all of whom have made important contributions to IDCA. Any award or recognition like this is important as it inspires and encourages our younger generation to do their best and get involved with the organization and community and create meaningful change and also uplift their own personal growth,” Saraf said.

India’s Consul General in New York Randhir Jaiswal, was the “Guest of Honor” at the celebrations.
