Indian-American women entrepreneurs hold networking meeting

Indian-American women entrepreneurs held a networking meeting at Mughal Outdoors restaurant on Oak Tree Road, Edison, N.J., Sept. 20, 2021.

Hosted by Indian American Women Entrepreneur Association (IAWEA), the event was successful, attended by nearly 80 members, donors and supporters, organizers said in a press release.

Founder of IAWEA, Dr. Nimisha Shukla, thanked attendees and introduced the guest speaker Elaine McClaine, regional director, Small Business Development Center, Rutgers University, who spoke on the topic – Human Resources and Staffing Strategies.

The highlight of the evening was the commitment of IAWEA of helping the businesses that lost significant revenue due to the Covid pandemic. It is the motto of IAWEA to stand with its members in times of crisis and be ready to help those in need, organized said.

Dr. Shukla announced the much-needed relief of $10,000 to Hot Chillies Entertainment and presented the check.

The IAWEA “is earning recognition day by day and making its presence felt in the community,” the press release said. As a sign of its success, 14 new members joined the organization during the Sept. 20 networking meeting. Among them were many male members who stood up to show their support for women’s empowerment.

Among those who attended the event were Srujal Parikh and Ankur Vaidya of the Federation of Indian Associations. Priti Pandya, president of the Asian Indian Chambers of Commerce, who also joined the association.

Ajay Kumar of SAI CPA was recognized for hosting a Free Quick Book course for the IAWEA members.

“Most praiseworthy and commendable was the sponsorship of Economic Hardship Grant of $10,000 by Qanswer Lab,” organizers noted. IAWEA honored Trupti Patel with a plaque of recognition for this generous contribution.

Dr. Shukla announced the availability of Free online Excel classes for the members of the association. She also acknowledged the support of ITV GOLD and TV Asia for covering the event and Moghul Restaurant for allowing the association to host the event.
