Bharat Patel, 36, a husband and father who works as an Uber Eats delivery man, was attacked and stabbed multiple times on Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2022.

Police have apprehended the man who carried out the attack, news reports said, identifying him as Sean Cooper, 47, a.k.a. “Big Coop,” now charged with robbery, assault and criminal possession of a weapon, the New York Post reported.

Patel told NY Post the incident happened on the Lower East Side, and even as he was being attacked in the early hours of the morning, there were a few people around but no one came to his aid. Despite being under attack, Patel called 911.

News reports said the NYPD described Cooper as a “super perp” who had been hauled in many times in the past.

Patel said Cooper did not ask for money. Unidentified sources told NY Post the attacker demanded Patel’s bike. When Patel kept his hold on the ebike, he was stabbed on the leg and back, the news report said.

According to the NYPost, Cooper, 47, had been busted 103 times before this latest incident.

The newspaper quoted an unidentified ‘law-enforcement source’ saying Cooper is “single handedly responsible for Manhattan South’s spike in robbery and burglary,” adding, “He’s a whale — robbery, burglary, petit larceny, grand larceny — he’s all over. We dropped 15 arrests alone this year on [him].”

Cooper’s latest victim was making a delivery on Allen Street near Rivington Street in Manhattan around 3 a.m. when the suspect walked up to him and snarled, “Give me your bike,” sources said.
