A pageant to select the best of the best in several categories was held in Long Island on Sunday, May 19, in a tough competition that attracted many prominent members of the Indian-American community and elected officials, as well as Bollywood celebrity Shamita Shetty.
Rashmi Bedi and Dr Sheetal Desai, in association with MyDream Entertainment and MyDream Global Foundation, held the Miss Bharat New York 2019, as well as the Miss International Beauty 2019 contest.
The Company’s CEO and founder, Rashmi Bedi, and Janak Bedi conceptualized and organized this pageant with help of Dr. Desai. There were 48 contestants from New York, according to a press release from the organizers.
Dilip Chauhan was guest of honor and he presented a citation to Shetty on behalf of Nassau County. Rashmi Bedi received the New York State’s women’s empowerment award from Charles D. Lavine, NY State Assembly member.
Shetty presented the Bharat Global Icon Award 2019 to a number of community leaders. She also crowned the winners who included the following —

Shetty also awarded Rashmi Bedi and Sheetal Desai the Bharat Global Icon Awards 2019 for ‘Outstanding Contribution To Empower Women’ the press release said.
“The vision of the pageant was to empower women and youth by giving them a platform to discover themselves and fulfill their dreams,” organizers said in the press release.
The event was covered by local and national media including their exclusive media partner TV Asia , ITV Gold , PTC Punjabi, and Desi Talk and Bengali channels.
