Indian-American Judge KP George receives President Biden in Houston, Texas

Indian-American Judge KP George, from Fort Bend County, Texas, was among the local elected officials who received President Joe Biden on the tarmac at Ellington Field in Houston on July 29, 2024. The other officials included Mayor John Whitmire and City Controller Chris Hollands.

US Senators Chris Coons (D-DE), Alex Padilla (D-CA), and Congressman Jim Clyburn (D-SC) among others were also present on the tarmac.

Judge George tweeted “I am honored to welcome President Biden to Houston as he pays tribute to the incredible legacy of Congresswoman Shiela Jackson Lee.”

President Biden visited Houston to pay respects to the late Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, who recently passed away from pancreatic cancer.

Judge George recently led relief efforts and helped thousands of Fort Bend County residents, who lost power following the devastating impact of Hurricane Beryl. He coordinated with county officials and agencies to gather resources and provide community assistance.
