QUEENS, NY – India Home, a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting South Asian and Indo-Caribbean elderly immigrants in New York City, joined forces with the NY Irish Center for the upcoming Crossroads Concert on Thursday, February 27, at 7 PM. The event “promises to be a powerful celebration of two rich musical traditions”—Indian classical and Irish folk music. The concert, which is part of the ongoing Crossroads Concerts series, features an extraordinary lineup of musicians and offers an evening of cultural harmony and artistic brilliance, organizers said in a press release.

The Crossroads Concerts is a seven-part world music series that runs through June 2025, as part of the NY Irish Center’s 20th anniversary season. Curated by ethnomusicologist Colin Harte, the series seeks to explore and celebrate the connections between Irish folk music and global music traditions. These concerts juxtapose Irish music with genres from around the world, including Puerto Rican, Ghanaian, Bulgarian, Brazilian, and Arab influences.

Earlier collaborations include Irish and Puerto Rican traditions, such as Puerto Rican Plena and the holiday Parranda.
