In the context of International Women’s Day just over on March 8, FIA-Chicago, under the leadership of Sunil Shah, is pointing to its achievements in inducting more women members and leaders of the 15-year old organization.

In a press release from Asian Media USA, the organization said it had taken a “historic leap” in women’s participation.

From 49 women members in 2023, it saw the number rise to 123 in 2024, a 151 percent increase.

Describing it as a “new era of inclusivity and empowerment” the FIA-Chicago pointed to it top posts held by Vinita Gulabani, past president, Pratibha Jairath, immediate past president, and Anu Malhotra, the current president.

Apart from them Chandini Duvuri and Richa Chand, along with Falguni Sukhadia, Sonia Luther, Pinky Thakkar, Anita Beri, Prasuna Muddasani, Kamlesh Kapoor, Leela Patel, Digna Patel, Asha Oroskar, Sushma Bhanot, Priyanka Parekh, and Archana Agrawal, have been instrumental in driving FIA’s mission forward, the organization noted. “Their unwavering dedication and leadership have transformed FIA into a beacon of unity, strength, and progress for the Asian Indian community,” it added.

Currently FIA has 246 members, equally split between men and women (123 men and 123 women), which, the organization said, is a milestone.

“This surge isn’t just about numbers, it’s about redefining leadership, ensuring women play a pivotal role in shaping the future. FIA Chicago isn’t just growing; it’s evolving into a powerhouse of unity, equity, and progress,” the organization said in the press release.
