IAAC announces appointment of Suman Gollamudi as Executive Director

New York: The Indo-American Arts Council has announced the appointment of Suman Gollamudi to the position of Executive Director. She most recently served as Director of Marketing for IAAC where she focused on strengthening the IAAC and NYIFF branding and communications efforts as well as developing relationships within the community. In her new role, she will focus on taking IAAC to the next level given the new opportunities which have opened up for it.

IAAC Chairman Dr. Nirmal Mattoo said, “Suman brings a deep commitment to the arts and community which will scale IAAC in the years to come. She emerged as the clear choice for the Board to fill this important role. We are embarking on the most exciting and challenging phase in IAAC’s growth and are proud that a person of Suman’s caliber will lead the organization.”

Suman Gollamudi said, “I am thrilled to accept the role of the Executive Director of the Indo-American Arts Council. I am grateful for the trust placed in me to safeguard this leading supporter of Indian arts and culture in the New York Tri-State Area.. I am confident that despite these very difficult times, our team and community will come together to provide support to our artistic endeavors and ensure that our programs are vibrant and impactful. I look forward to greeting you, our patrons and stakeholders in person this year.”

Rakesh Kaul Vice Chairman added, “I have worked closely with Suman and seen her shoulder increased responsibilities with a high degree of ownership and excellence. Much of the success of IAAC’s expanded brand awareness in 2020 is because of her contributions. The IAAC team is fully vested in her success and delighted that one of their own won this coveted position. Suman will have complete executive responsibility for the organization and will report directly to the Board.”

Suman brings over 15 years of experience with for-profit and non-profit organizations in India and the US. She has extensive experience in leading teams towards successful outcomes, and in streamlining practices in settings as diverse as charitable organizations, startups and multinational technology companies.

Suman has a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering and has further specializations in Computer Science and Digital Marketing.

The Indo-American Arts Council is a not-for-profit arts organization passionately dedicated to promoting, showcasing and building an awareness of the arts and artists whose heritage lies in the Indian subcontinent in the performing arts, visual arts, literary arts and folk arts. IAAC supports all the artistic disciplines in classical, fusion, folk and innovative forms influenced by the arts of India. They work cooperatively with colleagues around the United States to broaden collective audiences and to create a network for shared information, resources and funding.
