Akshay Kumar took to his social media to launch the brand new poster for his upcoming gangster movie Bachchhan Paandey (the extra letters are numerology, of course) to tease his fans ahead of the official trailer release that happened on February 18.

Posting to his 43.9 million Twitter followers, Akshay said: “This is one character that has more shades than a paint shop! #BachchhanPaandey aapko daraane, hasaane, rulaane sab ke liye ready hai (will be here to make you cry, laugh and fear. Be ready). Please give him all your love.”

Giving fans a glimpse into the nuances of his latest character, the poster says, “mujhe bhai nahi godfather bolte hain (You can’t call me a goon, I am the godfather)”, as he cuts a rather fearsome looking gangster in the headshot.

The film is written by Nischay Kuttanda and directed by Farhad Samji and is the story of a gangster who aspires to be an actor. Kriti Sanon plays a journalist who wishes to direct a film, and Arshad Warsi her associate. The film also stars Jacqueline Fernandez, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhimanyu Singh and Prateik Babbar in important roles. The film is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala.

It is a remake of the 2014 Tamil film Jigarthanda, which itself was reportedly inspired by the South Korean film, A Dirty Carnival (2006).
