The Parade is taking place at Boston Harbor, near India Street—a site deeply embedded in history as the birthplace of the United States’ own fight for freedom, which later inspired India’s struggle for independence, organizers said in a press release.

This year’s parade includes showstoppers like a Ram Temple float and multiple helicopters flying both the U.S. and Indian tricolor flags. Abhishek Singh, president of FIA-NE said, “These showstoppers will be a tribute to the enduring bonds between India and the USA.”

Miss World , Diana Hayden is the Honorary Grand Marshal, and India’s Consul General in New York Binaya Srikanta Pradhan, will be the Chief Guest. Special guests include Grand Marshal Manoj Tiwari, a renowned actor, singer, and Member of Parliament, and Hollywood actress Neetu Chandra.

Additional Guests of Honor include Arjuna Award recipient Ajay Reddy, esteemed community leader Ram Gupta, and Geoff Deihl, who will also be part of this significant celebration.

India’s cultural diversity will be on display through more than 25 floats, each representing various aspects of Indian heritage. “The participation of representatives from over 32 countries further underscores the international significance of this occasion,” the press release said.

Starting at 11 am, the ceremonies include a flag hoisting ceremony, cultural performances, and a recognition ceremony honoring veterans, law enforcement officials, seniors, and children. Thousands are expected to gather from across New England to witness this vibrant celebration.

Sandeep Asija, a member of the FIA Board of Trustees noted that the helicopters are a tribute to veterans of both US and India and to “the enduring spirit of liberty and the shared values between our nations.”

Billboards across the Boston area are already declaring the event and extending best wishes for Independence Day.
