Tirlok Malik, Emmy-nominated filmmaker and Happy Life Yoga speaker recently held an interactive session with the nurses, doctors, administrators and staff at NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln Hospital.

Participants reacted positively to the session where they laughed and were happy with the life advice and practical ways of living, a press release from Malik said.

Tara Sajan, director of Nursing and Behavioral Health was the program’s MC. The event was kicked off by Christopher Roker, CEO of NYCHHC/Lincoln Hospital, and Lillian Diaz, Deputy Executive Director & Chief Nurse Executive at NYCHHC/Lincoln Hospital.

The closing note of thanks was given by Frankie Hamilton, deputy director of Ambulatory Care Services at NYCHHC/Lincoln Hospital. Respected medical professionals Greta Bayne, Valerie St. Louis, Monica Anderson, Kencle Satchell, and Cheryl Simmons-Oliver were also present in the audience, among many others.

Malik highlighted the growing importance of being responsible for one’s own health and happiness because, if one loves one’s self, one takes responsibility for their health.

“A way of living inspired by the wisdom of Ayurveda, Yoga and Indian Philosophy, Happy Life Yoga is beneficial for one and all,” Malik said.

Launched in June 2019, Happy Life Yoga is the creation of Tirlok Malik as an educational platform “that offers a uniquely practical approach to health and happiness using tools from Ayurveda, Indian Philosophy, and Yoga to help better manage modern-day challenges such as work, finances, relationships, family, and other social pressures,” the press release said.
