The ITV Gold Auditorium in Edison, NJ, rang out with sounds of ghazal melodies August 4,  at an event organized by Dr. Satish Mullick, a dentist in New Jersey. The concert was a tribute to the timeless art of ghazal singing and was made possible with the support of Sunil Hali and the staff of Radio Zindagi, as well as grand sponsor Jugal Ladda of Reliance Surfaces.

Dr. Mullick gave an opening speech setting the tone for what was described as a soulful night, in a press release. The initial performances featured singers Anjana Dutta, Rajan Sharma, and Rantik Parikh.
The highlight of the evening was the performance by Dipanwita Chakraborty, who performed her interpretations of 18 ghazals. Her repertoire included classics originally performed by legendary artists such as Mehdi Hassan, Ghulam Ali, Begum Akhtar, Noorjahan, Farida Khanum, Asha Bhosle, Lata Mangeshkar, Jagjit Singh, and Hariharan. Chakraborty also showed her talent as a composer, singing one of her original compositions.
