Mumbai: Anmol Bishnoi, the younger sibling of notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, has been apprehended in California, USA. Anmol has been implicated in several high-profile crimes, including the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique and a shooting incident outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s residence in Mumbai, according to Mumbai Police sources.

Anmol, who reportedly resided in Canada while frequently traveling to the US, has been on the radar of Indian law enforcement agencies. His capture comes amid intensified efforts by the Mumbai Police and the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to bring him to justice.

The Mumbai Police recently submitted a proposal to the Central Government to begin the extradition process for Anmol. A special Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) court had earlier issued a non-bailable warrant for his arrest and authorized the issuance of a Red Corner Notice by Interpol. This notice serves as an international alert to locate and detain fugitives wanted by member countries.

In a significant move, the NIA announced a ₹10 lakh reward last month for any information leading to Anmol’s capture. The agency has also named him in an FIR as a key figure in a global criminal network allegedly directed by Lawrence Bishnoi, who continues to operate from within prison.

To facilitate Anmol’s extradition, officials have begun gathering certified court documents. Legal experts believe his detention marks a critical step toward dismantling the Bishnoi-led syndicate, which has been linked to violent crimes across India.

This arrest underscores the collaboration between international law enforcement agencies and highlights India’s commitment to combating organized crime. Efforts are now underway to bring Anmol Bishnoi back to India to face justice.
