Aanand L. Rai’s Raksha Bandhan is gearing up with humongous promotional activities, and the producer and Akshay Kumar along with the cast are leaving no stone unturned to ensure maximum buzz for the movie across the globe. The team recently flew to Dubai to promote their film, which releases on the auspicious occasion of the Rakshabandhan festival.

Interestingly, for the first time after the pandemic, movie promotion at such a large scale has happened in Dubai. From interviews to visiting malls like City Centre Diera and addressing a mammoth crowd, to showcasing the trailer at the Intercontinental Dubai Festival City, the team had a whale of a time interacting with the people and media.

After this, the team visited Pune and, needless to say, was warmly greeted by the city, especially the students of Shri Balaji College, who loved interacting with Akshay and his hilarious repartees. They also visited a famous misalpav centre to relish the popular local delicacy and were mobbed by crazy fans waiting patiently to get a glimpse of their favorite actor.

Up next was Indore city. Akshay has visited Indore a couple of times before, but the locals cannot get enough of their favorite Khiladi and was mobbed by fans. Akshay fulfilled his promise of taking his co-stars and team members to the popular Chappan Market in Indore to relish local delicacies like samosa, kachori and jalebi. After a press conference at Miraj Cinemas, the movie team visited Sage University and interacted with students.

The last stop was Hyderabad. Continuing his sweet gesture of gifting something special to his on-screen sisters from each city during movie promotions, in Hyderabad, which is also known as City of Pearls, Akshay took the sisters to the famous MG market for shopping for them.

With the music album already a favorite, the trailer building anticipation amongst the audience, here is what Akshay Kumar has to say: “I had a lot of fun playing my role. It is a character that belongs to a middle-class family embroiled in everyday middle-class problems, trying to make ends meet and having the responsibility of getting his four sisters married.”

He added, “I have essayed many roles in my career, but I haven’t worked in a film that focuses on this special brother-sister bond, something which is so relatable and universal. Actually I don’t think we have many such films in our industry. So in that sense, I got to try something new.”

Produced by Aanand L. Rai and Himanshu Sharma in association with Zee Studios, Alka Hiranandani and Cape of Good Films, the film has music by Himesh Reshammiya and lyrics by Irshad Kamil. Bhumi Pednekar plays the female lead.
