Foundation of Indian Americans-New England celebrates nation’s 248th Independence Day

The Foundation of Indian Americans – New England, (fiane.org) celebrated the 248^th Independence Day of the United States, Saturday, June 29, 2024.

Organizers said large numbers of the Indian American community in New England joined the celebration amidst the scenic surrounding in Holden, Massachusetts, in perfect outdoor weather.

“The love and gratitude of the attendees for America, their Karma Bhoomi, was on full display,” organizers said in a press release.

Live music by guitarist Mark Fleming set the mood for the event, and the announcement of India’s Cricket Team’s victory at the T20 World Cup Championship match, during the celebration, further enlivened the spirit of the attendees.

Chief Guest Ram Gupta and Meeta Gupta, along with Guests of Honor: former Rhode Island State Representative Robert Lancia and his wife Marian Lancia; Team Aid founders Mohan and Shama Nannapaneni; Asija Group founder Sandeep Asija; VHPA President Kaushik Patel and his wife Dr. Charu Patel, and Miss Continental Worldwide Maggie Lemay, extended warm wishes to the attendees for America’s Independence Day.

Misti Nordstrom, International Mrs. North America 2024, led the singing of the national anthem.

FIA-NE’s Vice President Sanjay Gokhale welcomed all the guests and expressed gratitude towards American leaders during and after the Second World War for putting diplomatic pressure on the British and advocating for India’s independence.

Anupama Debroy and Manisha Kumar were the emcees for this event. Dedicated effort by them and other FIA-NE executives, including Deepak Rathore, Anand Sharma, Nikhil Wadhawa, Amol Penshawar, Rakesh Kavsari, and many other volunteers ensured a smooth flowing program.

Boston’s celebrated Chef Hardayal Singh, prepared the delicious appetizers and lunch for those attending.

FIA-NE’s President Abhishek Singh, and his wife Jyoti Singh expressed heartfelt gratitude and thanked all guests for their presence and support in making the celebration memorable.
