

Ahmedabad: For the first time in India, NRI-NRG living abroad held a car rally to campaign for the Lok Sabha elections. They came from many countries of the world to join the car rally which started from Ahmedabad and ended in Surat.

The 275 km car rally, organized in collaboration with Gujarat’s Foreign Relations Department, started from Ahmedabad Sabarmati Riverfront on April 28. NRI-NRG from America, UK, Canada, Australia, Africa, New Zealand, UAE, Nigeria etc. participated in the rally, according to a press release from organizers.

Around 75 cars sporting flags of different countries were part of the colorful rally joined also by Gujarat Minister Jagdishbhai Vishwakarma, former Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama, MLA Babubhai J. Patel, BJP’s foreign relations in-charge Vijay Chauthaiwale, came especially from Delhi, to flag off the car rally.

Digant Sompura, the convener of Gujarat BJP’s foreign relations department, said that the original concept of this rally was conceived by Nirav Patel, who lives in Chicago, US, and Dr. Vasudev Patel of Overseas Friends of BJP-USA (OFBJP USA).



All those participating in this rally did so at their own expense, with the aim of encouraging more voting in the Lok Sabha elections and to make people vote more for the political party that is constantly striving for the development of the country, the press release sent by Sompura said.


In all the planning of this rally, General Secretary of Gujarat BJP Rajni Patel and Chief Convener of Gujarat BJP Doctor’s Cell Dr. Dharmendra Gajjar worked tirelessly and made the rally a grand success, the press release said.
