Federation of Indian Associations-NYNJCT announces new leadership

The Federation of Indian Association of the tri-state area, held its Annual General Meeting on October 4, 2023, at Akbar Restaurant in Edison, New Jersey. Present at the occasion were the FIA’s board of trustees, Senior advisors H.R. Shah and Dr. Sudhir Parikh, and the executive team, along with others from different member associations.

The meeting announced the new Executive Team for the Year 2024, a press release from the organization said.

Chairman Vaidya thanked the Executive Team of 2023 for their hard work under the able leadership of Desai and accorded a warm welcome to the new team. The newly elected President, Dr. Avinash Gupta, in his acceptance speech, said he learned a lot this year during his tenure as Vice President and thanked his team for all their support. He said he looks forward to the upcoming year and would endeavor hard to take FIA to new heights in alignment with the support from his new executive team, and he was sure that all of them together will make their motherland, India, proud as well.

Dr. Gupta said he will work towards promoting the interests and welfare of the Indian diaspora in the US, fostering cultural exchange and understanding, advocating for the community’s needs, and strengthening the organization’s role as a non-profit grassroots umbrella organization. The work of FIA in various social welfare projects and humanitarian initiatives would also help the broader local community, Dr. Gupta noted.
