Eventful Christmas in Mumbai showbiz

December 25, or Christmas, and Christmas Eve a day earlier, are celebrated across the country by all, and not merely by Christians. This year, the film industry had a bountiful season.

For starters, Salman Khan’s brother Arbaaz Khan married make-up artiste and hairstylist, Sshura Khan, at his sister Arpita Khan Sharma’s house.

In a video that has since gone viral on the internet, his brother Salman Khan is dancing to Tere mast mast do main from Dabangg with other guests. Arbaaz’s son, Arhaan, from his first marriage with Malaika Arora, also danced along. Later the trio of Arhaan, Arbaaz and Sshura posed for a picture for a Mumbai tabloid.

After the nikaah, Arbaaz took to Instagram with pictures and a caption saying, “In the presence of our loved ones, me and mine begin a lifetime of love and togetherness from this day on! Need all your blessings and good wishes on our special day!”

Present on the occasion were Arbaaz’s mother Salma, stepmother Helen, father Salim Khan, Sohail Khan with son Yohan, Atul Agnihotri and wife and Arbaaz’s other sister Alvira, co-host Aayush Sharma, Iulia Vantur, family friends Raveena Tandon Thadani with daughter Rasha and Genelia and Ritesh Deshmukh with their sons Riaan and Rahyl.

Bollywood Hungama reported that “Arbaaz Khan was dressed in peach and beige floral bandhgala with beige trousers for the ceremony. The bride Sshura was dressed in a shimmery blouse and floral peach lehenga…It is believed Arbaaz Khan met Sshura Khan while they were working on the movie set, Patna Shukla.”

A host of shows all over Mumbai and the country also celebrated the 99^th birthday of playback titan Mohammed Rafi.

Nothing is public about how December 24 birthday boy Anil Kapoor celebrated the occasion. But, on Instagram, his daughter, Sonam K. Ahuja nee Sonam Kapoor, posted, “Happy Birthday Dad! the world knows you as the evergreen Super star who never ages, our industry knows you as the most consistent, hardworking and talented actor of the last four generations, but for your family you’re the best husband, father and grandfather, who leads by example of openness, hardwork, gratitude and love.

No one like you @anilskapoor you literally are the best in the world.”

On December 25, the late legendary composer, Naushad’s 104^th birthday was also observed.

The Kapoors, of course, had their annual Christmas brunch together, with Raha, Ranbir Kapoor’s and Alia Bhatt’s daughter, making her first public appearance and giving the paparazzi a field day. The meal occasion saw Neila Devi Kapoor (the late Shammi Kapoor’s wife), Randhir Kapoor and Babita, Karisma Kapoor with son Kiaan and daughter Samaira, Reema Jain, Agastya Nanda and sister Navya Naveli Nanda, Armaan Jain with wife Anissa Malhotra (fashion and lifestyle blogger, a stylist and a marketing consultant) and his brother, Aadar Jain with girlfriend, Aleka Advani, in attendance.

On the same day, Suniel Shetty celebrated his wedding anniversary with Mana with an intimate picture on Instagram and wrote, “Happy happy anniversary wifey…locked, knotted, tangled and tied to each other for 41 years now…you will forever my always!!”
