Dev Darshan Senior Center hosts anniversary gala

Celebrating a year of success, the Chicago-based Dev Darshan Senior Center, marked its 1st Annual Gala on March 30th at the National India Hub in Schaumburg, IL, featuring renowned Bollywood singers Sammy and Gautam from Dallas.

The event commenced with Master of Ceremonies, Richa Chand, introducing Dev Darshan’s mission of uplifting senior citizens’ lives through various programs.

The gala included heartfelt tributes to President & Founder Hema Shastri for her exemplary community service and a commemoration for Late Dr C.L Shastri, followed by a lamp lighting ceremony and speeches by distinguished guests, a press release from the organization said.

Special guests including Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi, D-Illinois, India’s Consul General in Chicago Somnath Ghosh, and Dr. Vijay Prabhakar shared words of commendation and encouragement, underscoring the vital role of senior groups in the community’s success story.

The gala also featured performances by Bollywood dancers and a musical extravaganza by Sammy and Gautami. Local talents, Poonam Poddar and Melody Mahesh Kumar also performed at the event.

The evening concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Vice President Neelam Desai, acknowledging the contributions of sponsors, supporters, and volunteers.
