Community energized by Jesal Patel’s candidacy for Lincolnwood Village Mayor in Illinois

The Indian-American community held a reception for March 25, 2021, for Jesal Patel, candidate for the office of the Lincolnwood Village Mayor in Illinois. The spot became open as incumbent Mayor Barry Bass, is not seeking re-election during the April 6 elections.

During the recent meet and greet at Holiday Inn, Skokie, IL 60077, many prominent members of Lincolnwood expressed their wholehearted support for Patel, a real estate broker, and trustee of the Village for the last 14 years.

“I love Lincolnwood and am proud to have called it my home since I was just 4 years old. My children attend the same schools and play in the same parks that I did growing up,” Patel is quoted saying in an interview carried by the Chicago Tribune March 22, 2021.

Among those present at the March 25 event which was steered by Susan Patel, were Minal Desai (Skokie Park District Commissioner), Susan Patel (President Indian American Democratic Organization), Harendra Mangrola Past President IADO, Babu Patel (Marsha), Bhavesh Patel and Babu Patel (Saahil), Nick Patel (LA Tan), Kiraan Shah, Gautam Patel, Ashok Patel, Kishor Patel, J P Patel, PC Sha,  Bharat Liwani and Karim and Hannah Lakhani, according to a press release from Asian Media USA.

Speakers praised Patel for his work as a trustee of Lincolnwood and extended their support

The Lincolnwood Alliance, of which Patel is a member, was highlighted specially with regard to how it secured necessary financing to initiate the first phase of the 10-year infrastructure improvement program with zero property tax increases, the press release said.

Patel reminisced about spending his childhood in Lincolnwood, and his father Babu Patel, urged everyone to vote for his son to make Lincolnwood a prosperous and a safe place to live.

One of candidates for the office of trustee, Mohammed Saleem also addressed the guests at the event. Saleem, a civil engineer by profession, noted he could use his expertise as a civil engineer towards revamping the roads, buildings and the overall infrastructure of the Village of Lincolnwood.

Lincolnwood Alliance Party candidates in the current elections are Jesal Patel for Mayor, Beryl Herman for Clerk, and three candidates Jean Ikezoe-Halevi, Grace Diaz Herrera, Mohammed Saleem for Trustees, the press release said.

Patel requested everyone to go for early voting till April 5, the day before Election Day, at Oakton Community College 7701 N Lincoln Mon-Fri 9am – 5pm and on weekends 10am – 4pm.
