Ajay Bhutoria, a member of the National Finance Committee for Harris for President, has launched an energetic new Bollywood-themed campaign song titled “Nacho Nacho” to mobilize South Asian voters in key battleground states including Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Georgia, Nevada, and Arizona.

The initiative aims to rally voters behind Vice President Kamala Harris, highlighting her as a beacon of hope for the future of Indian Americans and the broader South Asian community, a September 8 press release from Bhutoria said.

The catchy video begins with a thumping beat and a variation of the song ‘Nacho Nacho’ which continues to play in the background as images of Harris from her campaign are flashed as is her acceptance of the nomination for President. Also included are pronouncements by numerous Indian Americans urging viewers to vote for Harris, speaking in different languages.

“Vice President Harris embodies the aspirations and future of millions of Indian Americans and immigrants,” Bhutoria says, adding that Harris brings unity where her opponent Donald Trump brings divisiveness

“Through ‘Nacho Nacho’, we are using Bollywood’s universal appeal to unite and energize our community for this critical election,” Bhutoria said.

The Video campaign is designed to galvanize the Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) communities, emphasizing the pivotal role these voters play in shaping the 2024 election outcome, the press release said, with a call to these groups to “stand up and be counted.”

Bhutoria said h4e plans to produce additional music videos to increase voter engagement and turnout for the Harris-Walz ticket.

“In 2020, our campaign videos went viral, reaching millions of voters. This time, we’re doubling down to make sure every South Asian vote counts,” he added.

The “Nacho Nacho” video is produced by Ritesh Parikh of Awesome TV and features vocals by Bollywood singer Shibani Kashyap, and incorporates messages in Telugu, Tamil, Gujarati, Punjabi, and Hindi. Parikh noted, “Kamala Harris is a unifying figure, much like Bollywood, and her story resonates deeply with our community.”
