Bhushan Kumar gifts swanky McLaren to Kartik Aaryan

A power-packed partnership calls for a power-packed present. Riding high on the mega-success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and the dynamic collaboration that Bhushan Kumar and Kartik Aaryan hold, the producer gifted India’’s first GT (gran turismo or “grand touring” car), a posh Orange McLaren, to the talented actor, and it happens to be the first car delivery in India. The car is reportedly worth Rs. 3.73 crore. Released across 3200 screens in India and 700 overseas, the film has grossed Rs. 260.75 crore (US$34 million) worldwide (on a production budget of Rs 80 crore plus) to become the second highest-grossing Hindi film of 2022 after The Kashmir Files. The film is headed for a super-hit status where the nett (after deduction of entertainment tax) collections are thrice or more of the investment.

From entertaining the masses in 2018 with their maiden collaboration on Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety and then also on Pati Patni Aur Woh (2019), which did average business, Bhushan and Kartik have come a long way. The two not only gear up for yet another anticipated movie of the year, Shehzada, but there will be more announcements in the coming days.

Their forthcoming film, Shehzada, is the Hindi remake of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, the 2020 Telugu super-hit written and directed by Trivikram Srinivas. The Hindi version will be directed by Rohit Dhawan with Kriti Sanon in the female lead. Pritam scores music.
